I remember seeing Punchline for the first time back in high school. They were opening for Less Than Jake and Fall Out Boy, and practically no one knew them in the crowd. I could have easily ascribed the crickets in the crowd to their “opener” status, but that wasn’t the case: they really sucked. Years later, Punchline have grown into their shoes to become a solid pop-punk band. Given their pop-punk status and the explosion of this scene in recent years, it takes a lot to push the envelope, and Punchline simply aren’t doing this. There are plenty of fun and bouncy breakdowns, but there’s nothing that will knock your socks off. If you’re looking for some simple lyrics and music that’s easy to get into, then we’ve found a winner.
