The career life of a jam generally consists of a musical plateau with a few bumps and dips. This is certainly the case with Out Louder. They have added the brilliance of guitar player Scofield while keeping the rest of line-up identical. What separates this disc from End of the World Party is that it is less aggressive, more down tempo and laid back, and less electronic and jazzy. None of the tracks stand out from one another: It is more of album listening than an individual journey of a few songs. Light yourself a joint a chill out to these mellow tunes.
