After releasing one of my all-time favorite records, Cursive return with an album that lacks the energy and fierce vocals that made The Ugly Organ a success. They’ve taken a step back on every track and it’s impossible to ignore this prevailing theme on the entire album. Happy Hollow is also missing a few key tracks to stand out and make this album triumphant. They really need to start playing the organ again.
