After releasing two colossus albums, The Strokes have lost their magic. The album isn’t terrible, but their sound is not progressing. Tracks like “You Only Live Once” and “On the Other Side” remind me of their inspiring sound, but most of the other tracks are flat and boring. My other complaint is the length of this album: Their previous pop masterpieces are a short 30-minutes, but this one clocks in at 52 excessive minutes. If they could have cut out five tracks, this album would be worth ample listening.
