I’ve always loved Citizen’s Cope R&B/rock style, but he has never managed to produce an outstanding record. I throw him into the genre of organic singer-songwriters like Jack Johnson and Ben Harper; they create good albums, just nothing great. Every Waking Moment is easy to like because it’s packed with power pop and acoustic tunes that simply jam. The highlight tracks are packed into the middle of the album like a slab of juicy meat in the heart of a sandwich. A great emotional summer album to get you through the dreary fall.
