There’s heavy metal, and then there’s Mastodon. They can hit the drums harder and scream louder than any other band in recent times. While I will admit that I have a secret obsession with a good head banging rock song, I really can’t get into much of the music on Blood Mountain because it simply doesn’t seem like music. They might have lost their touch, but I still love the last track on this disc.
